Mallory started cycling in February of 2014. She competed in triathlons for 2 years prior to her first bike race and played soccer since she was 5 years old. Mallory had a passion for the cycling event in triathlons and has now transitioned to focus on just cycling. In September of 2014, she discovered cyclocross and has not looked back. The soccer cleats were hung up so she could concentrate on cyclocross during the fall. Mallory started middle school in August and is maintaining her honor roll status in the gifted/advanced IB program. Mallory makes sure to balance school work with cycling to stay on the honor roll.
Mallory loves her dogs and is looking forward to volunteering at her local animal shelter in the upcoming months. Mallory loves cycling and is excited to join the Twenty16 family and learn from her older and more experienced teammates.

What inspired you to become a bike racer?
I participated in Triathlons for 2 years. I enjoyed the cycling portion more than the other events so I decided to focus on cycling
Who is an inspiration to you in your life, both on and off the bike?
My parents. They work hard to provide me the opportunity and resources to succeed in life, the classroom and on the bicycle. My mom has volunteered at local race events and my dad has become a race official
Favorite meal when training?
Smoothies and Salad
The best thing about being a bike racer is?
Traveling to new places and seeing the country and learning from each race experience no matter what the results are
What is your biggest accomplishment on the bike?
Competing at age 10 and 11 in numerous Women’s Category 4 Races (Criterium, Time Trials and Cyclocross) and making the podium
Favorite place you’ve raced your bike and why?
Covington, Georgia. The area was very pretty, great race courses and had nice places to visit when not racing

Cyclocross and BMX
Best tip for a new bike racer?
It hurts but it is well worth it
What are one or two things that you do daily that are the key to your success?
Keeping things balanced between school and the bike, going to the gym
If you weren’t bike racing what would you be?
Playing soccer and competing on my local swim team
What is something that nobody would know about you?
I can (almost) ride a unicycle

Continued education is important because nothing is guaranteed with cycling. If something happens and the cycling career comes to a stop, continuing education can help provide a transition to success in life off the bike.

Supporting and assisting the growth of cycling clubs at the local and national level.
