What made you want to become a bike racer?
My grandfather, Paul Tetrick, was the first person who ever told me I should race bikes. He is 81 years old and is still racing! He would always tell me that I could go to the Olympics in cycling, and I really hope to be able to prove him right.
Who is an inspiration to you in your life, both on and off the bike?
My family is the most influential aspect in my life, and it always has been. My sister, Jennifer Tetrick, is my very best friend, and my parents, Steve and Bonnie Tetrick, really inspire me to always do my best, live for the right reasons, and enjoy what I do. I am very blessed to have them in my life inspiring me to be who I am, and to have the support when I need it.
The best thing about being a bike racer is?
Being able to travel around and see some incredible places and views. The scenery is always better on a bike, and to be able to visit some of those most remarkable places in the world and race your bike, is by far the best part of bike racing.
Favorite place you’ve raced your bike and why?
I love so many races! But, I will always have a special place for Mt. Hood. I think it is a great race and the scenery is completely amazing. It is the perfect mixture of mountains, rolling hills, and a great downtown vibe.
